Ingredients:
1 c. flour
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. butter (melted)
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. whipping cream or 4 1/2 oz. carton Cool Whip
2 egg whites
3/4 c. sugar
1 pkg. frozen strawberries (cut in pieces) or 2 c. sliced fresh strawberries
Directions:
In a bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar, nuts, and butter. Spread evenly in a 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Stir. Remove from oven. Cool. Sprinkle 2/3 of this mixture in the bottom of the pan. Reserve the rest of the mixture. In large bowl, combine egg whites first, white sugar, and lemon juice. Fold in berries. Beat at low speed until it begins to thicken (approximately 2 minutes). Then beat at high speed until stiff peaks form 10 to 12 minutes. Fold in whipped topping. Spoon over mixture in pan, top with crumbs. Freeze for 6 hours or overnight. Cut in squares. Garnish with berries. Serves 10 to 12.
