Ingredients
1 Pkg dry-yeast or (1 cake)
1 Cup of water
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups flour
2 Tablespoons olive oil
Directions
Dissolve yeast in water-let stand 5-10 minutes. Combine flour and salt in large mixing bowl. Make a well in center of flour and gradually work in 1/2 yeast/water with fingers. Add 2 Tablespoons olive oil and gradually work in remaining yeast mixture. Add a little water if needed to make dough soft and smooth. Knead vigorously for 10 minutes. Let rise for 45 to 60 minutes. Roll to 1/8" thick. rub surface with teaspoon olive oil. Add sauce, cheese and goodies. Makes 2- 14" shells.

I add a little sugar (maybe a tablespoon) to help the dough rise. Just add enoug flour so it is no longer sticky.
ReplyDeleteI also don't follow the directions. Throw everything into the kitchen aid and let it mix for maybe five minutes.
ReplyDeleteFor better results in dough texture, dissolve yeast in mixer bowl then add all ingredients in and mix in the flour slowly. Cook at 450 degrees.
